Week 2 Answers Some Questions
There was only two games this week, but they cleared up a few things for myself. After watching the first game, It looks like every team is around the same level despite the different rankings. Not that some players aren't way more mechanically better than others, but as a team and team play they are on the same level. Magnus Esports was playing with a lot of subs and a few Plat players which isn't allowed. However, I let Deathwish Esports make the final decision. They said they would go for it. Very respectable to Deathwish Esports for wanting to take on the challenge. With the battle cry "We have a death wish" they fought and fought hard. The game seemed like a very solo queue type of game. But despite the rank difference, Deathwish stayed in it and went the distance(sorry for the Rocky reference). They came up a little short but the fight was there the entire game. Well done.
So like I said, all teams are on the same level. All except one. That's where the second game showed me something other teams might want to be a bit worried about. The newly named but not newly formed Limitless looked like a team that has been around awhile. While Solo Queue Heroes Valiantly went blow for blow with Limitless for 23 minutes, they clearly couldn't keep up with the macro game of limitless. Kills were rivaled by SQH until 23 minutes but objective and dragon control were lost and given to Limitless. Now that the Standings have a leader, teams should look toward Limitless as the team to prepare for every week. Although I give Limitless a lot of props, they should be careful. The rest of the teams in this league(Other than Magnus Esports) haven't been together more than a few weeks. The more they play, the better they will be.
The league is up for grabs for every team. Magnus and Limitless looked strong and are undefeated. Deathwish, Totality TItans, and Solo Queue Heroes look okay except for lacking in macro and team play. Insight and XKT are looking to get their rosters formed and ready for Week 3. More questions should be anwered this weekend. I can't wait!
